Oppo South Africa launched the Reno8 series in Johannesburg with the hashtag #UnlockTheNight last night The Oppo Reno8 Pro 5G in this lineup particularly raises the bar for nighttime video and photography.
The Reno8 Pro and Reno8 are scheduled to launch in October and November, respectively.
According to Oppo, the Reno8 boasts the first 4K Ultra Night Video with HDR in its class and up to 20% faster picture processing. This product offers consumers stunning detail in low-light situations.
The Reno8 Pro 5G offers everything we’ve come to expect from a phone: charging, battery life, image processing capability, and an elegant design.
For consumers trying to survive the erratic local energy supply in South Africa, the long-lasting 4500mAH battery is a game-changer. I mean, an 80W SUPERVOOC charger that is TUV (international battery safety accreditation) approved, also enables a 50% charge in just 11 minutes. It’s also included with the device when it is sent!
Even the most energy-draining users will be able to get through the day thanks to the Oppo self-developed Battery Health Engine, which allows for more than 1600 charge cycles, or over four years of optimal battery health, double the industry average.
The OPPO Reno8 Pro features the most energy efficient processor of 2022, the flagship MediaTek 5nm Dimensity 8100-MAX SOC, ensures super smooth processing even during multiplayer gaming. Power consumption has been reduced, with a lower temperature increase during high frame rate usage and longer battery life compared to its predecessors. 8GB of ram is expandable by a further 5Gb, for a total of 13GB for those users who place high demands on processing power.
With gaming in mind, the 120Hz refresh rate and the 1000Hz Ultra touch response, allows users to perform actions faster than other players while a X-Axis Linear Motor offers true-to-life haptic vibration which immerses you in the action.
OPPO has made a real leap in smartphone imaging, revolutionising and innovating by design with its first-ever dedicated imaging neural processing unit (NPU) – the MariSilicon X. This cutting edge imaging NPU, will give users the best in photography capability, both in terms of lens technology, utilisation of the Sony IMX766 lenses and software. The MariSilicon X chipset is dedicated solely for the management of camera functions and processes.
The primary camera features a 1/1.56-inch sensor size, 50MP, DOL-HDR, and 4X dynamic range. A premium portrait camera system with cutting-edge capability has a macro setting that enables the taking of photos from as close as 4 cm. Another first for South Africa is the 32MP selfie camera on the OPPO Reno8 Pro, which has a 2X zoom, says Oppo.
Ample capacity, totalling 256GB, is available for cutting-edge photography, and it enables expandable memory of up to 1TB.
A sleek unibody design makes the most of the available space and has the industry’s smallest bezel for an immersive viewing experience. The optical fingerprint unlock only needs 0.2 seconds to unlock.
They will be available in two colours: Glazed Green and Glazed Black.
The Oppo Reno8 will be sold for R16 999, while the Oppo Reno8 5G will be available for R19 999.
“This year we focused on enhancing our local offering to further empower South Africans. The Reno8 Pro leads an already successful Reno series, while highlighting the best of what Oppo brings. World-class, hummable technology that is designed to look like high-end art while being powerful enough to help make every day less stressful.” says Liam Faurie, head of operations and go-to markets for Oppo South Africa.
