Vertuo is NEXT for Nespresso

Vertuo is NEXT for Nespresso

Happy International Coffee Day and guess what?!? Nespresso has officially launched the new Vertuo coffee brewing system in South Africa. Appropriate, right?

Nespresso is the pioneer of portioned coffee and well-known the world over for high-quality espresso. Nespresso’s Vertuo is no exception. With 30 unique coffee blends and single origins in a range of 5 cup sizes for coffee lovers to enjoy Vertuo can make it all with the mere push of a button.

With major interest in the Vertuo in North America, Europe, and Asia, it seemed only appropriate that the Vertuo Next range hits out shires and indeed, it is now available in South AfricaWe like big coffee’s and we can’t deny! But that’s what’s starts most of our days off – a coffee that’s a little bigger than 200ml. So, South Africans will be able to enjoy larger cups of coffee brewed at home with the quality that Nespresso is known for thanks to Vertuo.

“By introducing Vertuo in South Africa, we are expanding at home coffee options for South African coffee lovers and delivering a range of large coffees without compromising the taste or extraordinary quality expected from each cup of Nespresso,” says Francisco Nogueira, Business Executive Officer for Nespresso Middle East & Africa. “Coffee lovers will be able to discover new sizes, whether that is a 230ml Signature coffee mug of their favourite coffee or the Carafe (535ml) for an even bigger Nespresso taste sharing experience.”

Let’s get a little technical

The Vertuo system introduces centrifusion technology as well as a new range of coffee capsule sizes, allowing for a variety of coffee types. The clever technology reads and recognises the unique barcode on each capsule at the press of a button, regulating the flow and volume of water, temperature, infusion duration, and capsule rotation to extract a high grade dark, full-bodied coffee with a silky and generous crema.

Nespresso South Africa presently offers three Vertuo Next versions in sleek and modern colours: Nespresso Vertuo Next, Vertuo Next Premium, and Vertuo Next Deluxe. All of the machines use centrifusion technology and have a simple one-touch button. Visit za.buynespresso.com for additional information on each machine.

The Vertuo Next

Nespresso Vertuo Next is available in three models, Vertuo Next, Vertuo Next Premium and Vertuo Next Deluxe.

The new Vertuo Next, which is the one I have, can make coffee in five different serving sizes: Carafe Pour-Over Style (535ml), Signature Coffee Mug (230ml), Gran Lungo (150ml), Double Espresso (80ml), and Espresso (100ml) (40ml).

Coffee enthusiasts can enjoy over 30 superb permanent coffees as well as seasonal limited editions:

  • 1 blend in Carafe Pour-Over Style

  • 6 single origin blends for Gran Lungo size
  • 3 blends for Double Espresso size

The various-sized capsules are designed to fit a variety of coffee cup sizes, and each is meticulously blended and roasted to give a high-quality coffee experience.

Vertuo Next systems start from R 3,499.00.

Features

The innovative new Vertuo Next machine range and the new coffees offer a variety of new features, all designed to enrich the experience:

  • New centrifusion extraction (rotational extraction) system to gently and precisely brew coffee. The rotation reaches up to 4000 rotations per minute to fully extract the coffee.
  • Barcode reading technology which adjusts the brewing parameters such as the cup size, temperature, rotational speed, flow rate and time the water is in contact with the coffee to allow for precise extraction.
  • Simple and convenient one button operation
  • Vertuo Next features an automatic opening and closing of the machine head.
  • 30 second pre-heating time, with the signature mug size (230ml) extracted in under 70 seconds.
  • Adjustable cup platform for Espresso, Double Espresso, Gran Lungo, Signature Coffee Mug, Carafe Pour-Over style, Recipe Glasses as well as the Travel Mug.
  • Automatic off mode after 2 minutes of non-use

Sustainability

So this is always really important to me. A few years ago, when my mother in law had a Nespresso machine, my husband suggested we get one and I was keen until I saw how many pods were being thrown away and that were wasn’t really anything being recycled. The subject was never mentioned again… until now.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything Nespresso does, and drives a commitment to making a positive difference for people and the planet. To that end, all Nespresso coffee capsules, including the Vertuo line, are made up of aluminium, which is recyclable. It’s the best way to protect freshness of the product, not to mention the quality and taste.

Nespresso has also invested in its recycling initiatives and is devoted to making it easy and quick for customers to recycle their used capsules.

And finally, all Nespresso systems include an energy-saving mode or automatic power-off mechanism to reduce energy use.

Vertuo Next machines are produced from more than 50% recycled plastics and have a totally recyclable pack comprised of 99.5% recycled material: recycled paper, moulded paper, and paper foil to protect the machine from scratches. By the end of 2021, all Nespresso machines will have this revolutionary packaging.
